The Children's Charity Golf Tournament raises $22,600 in support of Carolina Children's Home. On Thursday, September 18th the 12th Annual Children's Charity Golf Tournament was held at Northwoods Golf Club on Powell Road in Columbia, SC.
Nearly 140 golfers from the Midlands to Florida participated in this annual event which brings much needed awareness and monetary support of Carolina Children's Home. Located between Trenholm Road and Forest Drive, Carolina Children's Home is a group home for children and adolescents between the ages of 14 and 17 who are severe victims of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment.
The Home's primary service is to provide a home for children when they are unable to live with their family. This is supported by a range of prevention and treatment programs that ensure continuity, family focus and community.
Hosted by lead sponsor 1st Choice Mortgage, President and CEO Ralph Taylor began the Children's Charity Golf Tournament upon seeing a need amongst the sick and needy in Columbia for programs and services that offer care, support and rehabilitation. Mr. Taylor believed his company, 1st Choice Mortgage, their clients, and their clients' friends would be eager to lend a hand to those in need.
"I'm proud to give to such an excellent organization," said Mr. Taylor, who also serves on the Board of Directors for Carolina Children's Home.
"The Home has diligently served children and families in need from across the entire state of South Carolina for 99 years. I want to help ensure they are here for the next 100 years."
